Day 1: Trek to Mandara Hut (2,700m)
Your trek begins from the Rongai Gate, passing through a beautiful pine forest teeming with wildlife and vibrant flora. As you ascend through the forest, you’ll enjoy serene views of the mountain’s slopes, and the peaceful surroundings set the tone for the days ahead. After a moderate climb, you’ll reach Mandara Hut, where you can relax and enjoy the first of many spectacular sunsets over the surrounding landscapes. It’s the perfect place to rest and prepare for the next stage of your journey.
Day 2: Trek to Horombo Hut (3,720m)
On Day 2, you’ll ascend into the moorland zone, where the dramatic landscape shifts to open fields and rocky terrain, offering awe-inspiring views of Kibo Peak. The trek offers a steady pace for acclimatization, with opportunities to spot unique wildlife, such as monkeys and exotic birds. Day 4: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) and Descent to Horombo Hut

The climb to Uhuru Peak is demanding but incredibly rewarding, with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and glaciers. Once at the summit, you’ll take in the panoramic vistas of the African continent below. Day 5: Descent to Marangu Gate
